I have a Palm m 125. It does not start even when I connect it to my computer that has the software downloaded and so I cannot Hotsync it. I have changed the batteries, reinstalled the software twice and the palm never starts. Can anyone suggest or direct me as to what might be the problem?

If your m125 does not even power up with fresh batteries, it sounds like the device is shot.  Is this device new to you?  Has it ever worked for you?  Only thing I can suggest is pressing the Reset button in the back for a Soft Reset, or trying a Hard Reset.  If it doesn't start then, there is a hardware problem.

This article discusses the various types of Reset for different Palm devices:

I have a palm m125. I downloaded the software CD and when I tried to hotsync it, my palm would not turn on at all. Message on my Windows XP says selected port COM 1 not available. Can anyone help me with how to get to turn on the Palm and hot sync it?
