Ok so as I had said before I am completely aware that these features are available thru hacks patches and homebrews and it is obvious that these features are needed and wanted cause if not you and all the others would not be using webOS quickinstall but that is my point why does PALM not have these feature already why do they have a FEEDBACK link if they don't listen to it, when they have all of these highly overpaid programmers who spend hours hacking into itunes and it looks like they get there thrills and feel they have achieved something yet they don't spend any time adding these simple features WHY??? This forum is full of suggestions how many of theme have actually come to light NON!!!! The only ones listening are these garage programmers who (no disrespect I love these guys) actually spend time coming up with useful hacks patches and homebrews WAKE UP PALM!!!!!!!! before you also end up needing a Goverment Bailout!!!!

I understand your frustration, and many of your concerns are valid, but let me point out a few things here: - You have no idea how much Palm developers are paid -- you're just being inflammatory with that remark, and there's enough inflammatory stuff here alread, so can we maybe please not add anymore?
- I don't have any information personally, but enough people have spoken up here that seem to have inside information to convince me that the number of actual resource hours spent trying to get iTunes sync working is pretty small. I personally wish they wouldn't spend ANY, because it's just stupid, but I don't think that has taken much time away from other things
- It is seldom the programmers that decide what they are going to work on for a release. They are given a list of features for a release, usually by a product management group. Again, I don't work at Palm, but in 20+ years at 3 companies, I've never seen the developers make the decisions about what goes into a release. Palm is a small company, but not THAT small.
I'm not trying to take away from the main point of your post, but I felt that some of your comments were skating close to a personal attack on developers at Palm, and frankly, that's uncalled for. -- robert

Time For Palm To Drop WebOS And Embrace Android from the the-time-has-come deptIt appears that Wall Street is giving up on Palm after sales of the Pre have been massively disappointing, and Sprint (their only US partner) appears to be focusing more and more on HTC Android-powered phones these days. At the same time, developers are recognizing that if they're creating mobile apps, they need to decide which platforms to work on, and the markets for the iPhone and Android smartphones look a lot more exciting Full article http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20091103/0345006779.shtml

Or how about Android ON a Palm Pre? There's already a project like that underway. I, for one, would really relish that outcome. Android would really shine on the Pre since the hardware is pretty good (on par with the iPhone 3GS sans compass).

Change phone dialing keypad "sound" 6. Ability to change brightness of screen and keyboard separately 7. Voice dial 8. More Launcher pages 9. E-mail landscape 10. You could also have the basics like multi-touch... well not on any stock Android build. Both WebOS and Android are quite in their infancy. WebOS is practically a newborn compared to Android. Android has been on the market for well over a year. WebOS is still under 6 months. In my opinion both platforms have a LOT of potential. WebOS is amazingly great for the very few updates it has had. Actually, in Improvements vs Time, I would have to say WebOS is head and shoulders above everything out there. Not to mention the ability to easily patch new features in that are simply coded and distributed by the user community. Just my $0.02. -craig

By the looks of pixi it seems that Palm has once again not added any of the features from the main list and since the Pixi also has no led light in the center I think it is safe to say that Palm has no intention of adding any kind of missed notification alert on there phones even with the upcoming 1.3.1 so here is the new list of what WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN 1.3.1 update! 1. Notification led alert 2. Ability to choose your own notification sounds 3. Text forward 4. Virtual Keyboard 5. Change phone dialing keypad "sound" 6. Ability to change brightness of screen and keyboard separately 7. Voice dial 8. More Launcher pages 9. E-mail landscape 10. Video Recording ** I am fully aware that all these features are available with patches hacks and homebrews!!
