webOS 1.2 and Exchange

Has anyone been able to get their Pre with webOS 1.2 to sync with their Exchange server?  I was fine until the upgrade and then the sync stopped working.  I removed the account and then when attempting to re-add I keep getting "Unable to validate incoming mail server setttings..."  I know that it is hitting the Exchange server because I can see record of the first attempt at synchronization from my OWA account.

Re: webOS 1.2 and Exchange

I have not had a sucessful synch with my Exchange server since the webOS 1.2 update yesterday evening.  My provider is 4smartphone.net, FYI.  I have horrible voice coverage in my home office, and now I have no email on my phone. Basically I have a $200 device that is worthless to me.  So now we are at Palm's mercy to get this fixed.  I wonder if will be days or weeks??

My Pre 1.2 is working the same as it was with 1.1. My exchange account behavior has not been affected.

Re: webOS 1.2 and Exchange

I am also using 4smartphone for my hosted EAS account, and updating to webOS 1.2 has left me unable to get mail, sync calendar/contacts/etc.  I never had this problem with previous versions of webOS, or my two previous WM phones, and I am able to do everything as usual on the computer so I do not suspect any problems with the account itself.  Adding a PIN or password to my Pre has not helped.  It sounds like this has happened to many people with hosted Exchange accounts after 1.2 - there are a few threads on the topic over in the precentral forums.  Would manually installing an SSL certificate for 4smartphone help?

Re: webOS 1.2 and Exchange

I don't want to provide any false hope, but I have some contacts at Sprint on their smartphone team that are supposed to contact me about this Exchange synch issue.  I will let you all know if I find anything useful out, and hopefully the fix/workaround.

Re: webOS 1.2 and Exchange

FYI - my Exchange account is hosted at GoDaddy so this is happening for other hosted accounts.  I have only seen reference to 3SmartPhone in these forums.

I know that the device is reaching the server when attmpting to synchronize becuase I can see in OWA under Options, Mobile Devices the Palm device and it's ID.  I have removed the device from the list and then attempted another sync and it reappears.  I can't tell if this is a problem on the Pre or with the hosted exchange account settings.

Re: webOS 1.2 and Exchange

I was told to delete the old account and add my exchange account back as a new one.  however, since it will not connect to the server, even though I do get a message it does reach the server - but user and/or password are wrong - can not establish it.

Sprint indicates a fix is coming...but don't know when.  in the meantime this is hard to work with when you rely on it for business... come on Palm.. I know it happens, but this is pretty important!
